Military Women Rock This Veterans Day

Military Women Rock This Veterans Day Linda Franklin Shining Service WorldwideWe are celebrating our fabulous women in the military this Veterans Day with an over-the-top beauty makeover at The Calista Grand Spa in West Chester, Pa.  Twelve women will get the royal treatment with haircuts, color, makeup, manicures, styling advice all provided by the professional team at Calista Grand.  I can’t thank them enough for so graciously donating their time, people and services to honor our women.

Our celebs for the day will also be receiving a wonderful goody bag and for the grand reveal, I will present each woman with our Shining Service Bracelet, our special way of honoring all women who are part of the military family.

We’ve included a variety of women in our makeover mix. We have a mom who took care of her grandson when her son was deployed.  We have military spouses who sacrifice a lot and aren’t recognized enough for their special service. There are retired vets and women currently in service.  It’s a great group of fabulous females and I can’t wait to meet each and every one of them.

After the makeover our queens-for-a-day will be invited to go through our three month mentoring program, The Power of Ten, which will launch in January.  It’s another one our missions to help women successfully reintegrate into civilian life.  The Power of Ten is an online program which features ten experts in 10 areas we believe will resonate wih the challenges they face.  Each woman will have her own mentor who she will SKYPE with every week throughout the program.

Many Americans mistakenly believe that Veterans Day is the day America sets aside to honor American military personnel who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from combat. That’s not quite true. Memorial Day is the day set aside to honor America’s war dead.

Veterans Day,  honors ALL American veterans, both living and dead. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for dedicated and loyal service to their country. November 11 of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in the lives to keep our country free.

At Shining Service Worldwide we honor all the women connected to our military family.
